EXCLUSIVE USE BOOKINGS:

The Lakes is the perfect destination for groups of friends or families looking to celebrate a special occasion together. Nestled around an eight-acre lake, our charming shepherd’s huts and yurts encircle the Nest, an elevated safari tent with undeniable wow factor.

For smaller groups of up to 12 people, you can book a combination of up to three individual properties through the ‘Book Now’ button (see The Lakes page for details on each property). Alternatively, exclusive use for up to 30 people is available, and we’re happy to tailor your gathering to make it truly extraordinary. Please contact us with any questions.

Our four traditional shepherd’s huts accommodate up to 10 people. Three huts feature a double bed each, while the fourth includes a double bed and two bunk beds. We also offer two 5-meter yurts, each sleeping up to 4 people with a double bed and two single futons. Space is available for a fifth person in each yurt if they bring their own camp bed and bedding.

Each fully furnished hut and yurt includes a small wood burner for added coziness, as well as its own fire pit and outdoor seating. Private facilities, including a flushing toilet and shower, are provided for each unit. For Mallard, Teal, and Skylark, these facilities are located next door, while for Pheasant, Barn Owl, and Kingfisher, they are just a short walk away.

Additionally, we offer three bell tents, each accommodating up to 4 people with a double bed and two single chair-beds. These bell tents are only available during the summer months alongside another accommodation and share facilities with the relevant hut or yurt. While bedding is provided at The Lakes, please note that towels are not included.

For those who love to cook for a crowd, we offer a communal cooking area with two large fire pits and a wood-fired pizza oven that can whip up brilliant pizzas in minutes – we can provide pizza packs for your party. Additionally, two further kitchen areas adjacent to Mallard and Teal huts are equipped with fire pits, barbecues, sinks, and food preparation areas.

YOUR NEXT ADVENTURE:

For guests seeking adventure, there are walking trails to explore across the 75 acres of wildlife habitat on the glamping site, opportunities for wild swimming in the lake or trying your hand at the hybrid paddleboard/kayaks. Furthermore, we offer the option to hire a wood-fired hot tub for the weekend, comfortably seating 4-5 people, so you can unwind, soak, and marvel at the starlit sky.

The Lakes operates entirely off-grid, with power for lights and sockets (in Nest & Outdoor Kitchen only) provided by solar panels. There is no Wi-Fi, allowing you to fully disconnect from the outside world and simply relish the serene setting and the company of your loved ones. The nearest pub and shop are three miles away, and The Lakes itself is situated about a mile from the village road.

Despite its secluded location, we maintain utmost respect for the surrounding wildlife and neighbouring fishing lakes.
